Open Seat Still Up For Grabs On Wallington Board Of Education

WALLINGTON, N.J. — The Wallington Board of Education has an open seat following the resignation earlier this month of Lucia Lauterhahn, who moved from town.“We will fill the position for one year and then next November someone would have to run for whatever is left on the term,” Schools Supt. James Albro said.

The Wallington Board of Education is looking to fill one open seat. A decision may be made on Monday, Oct. 5.

A couple of candidates have applied and the board announced it will conduct interviews on Monday, Oct. 5 in executive session. A decision may be made then, officials said.

The preferred candidate must live in town and doesn't necessarily need to have children in the school system.

“In general we are looking for someone who has time to put in because it takes a tremendous amount of time -- and a general interest in the school district,” Albro said.
